But then, I was watching (just for a few minutes, enough to ’get the point’) another piece on all this "making history" afair and… If they (CNN) don’t want to hurt Obama’s chances maybe they should go easy on these programs. As I mentioned, I’m not a racist and don’t really care who’s going to win (as I said, we still have NATO, and if somebody invades Poland also the US is bound to help us militarily), but when I see all these folks saying how important this ‘making history’ for them is… They don’t even have to go that far in this history to find enough reasons to write a word ‘revenge’ on their foreheads.
I think that the endorsement of someone of Powell’s stature would be much more significant to all voters if the guy weren’t black. Because the obvious question is, why now? Two weeks before the election?! The commentators discussed his possible involvement months ago. And back then it wasn’t so clear who he’d support. And, so suddenly, now? Doesn’t it look like a pretty desperate attempt to give a ‘decisive push’ to a desperate 'brother'?
